MEET OXOID – THE EXPERTS IN PHARMACEUTICAL MICROBIOLOGY – AT PDA ANNUAL MEETING, 4 - 5 APRIL 2005
Visitors to the Remel stand at the PDA (Parenteral Drug Association)
Annual Meeting in Chicago, 4 - 5 April 2005 will be able to find details
of Oxoid’s new products for aseptic process validations (Media Fills)
and speak to personnel who understand the microbiological challenges
faced in today’s pharmaceutical industry.
Oxoid’s products for aseptic process validations (Media Fills) have been developed specifically to meet increased regulatory demands. Oxoid Cold Filterable Tryptone Soya Broth (product code: CM1065) has been specifically designed for use during aseptic process simulations. Tested for the absence of mycoplasma and irradiated to ensure that yeasts, moulds, bacteria and bacterial spores are eliminated, this highly filterable medium (each batch has a known V cap ) allows media fills to be undertaken at ambient temperatures and without changing filters.
For manufacturers preferring a product that is completely free of animal-derived material, details of Oxoid’s Cold Filterable Vegetable Peptone Broth (product code VG0104 - part of the Oxoid Veggietones range of USP-compliant, meat-free culture media products that are free from BSE, TSEs and GMOs) will also be available. Formulated using a pea peptone (digested using fungal enzymes), Oxoid Cold Filterable Vegetable Peptone Broth is a highly nutritious, general purpose medium that will support the growth of a wide range of bacteria, yeasts and moulds.
The performance of both products is tested according to specifications for growth of control micro-organisms laid down by the European, British, US and Japanese Pharmacopoeias.
These products are just part of what Oxoid offers the pharmaceutical industry. By monitoring changing and emerging regulations and standards, Oxoid is able to offer advice and guidance to pharmaceutical microbiologists, validation staff, production people and many other key disciplines that are involved with protecting the quality of drug products.
