OXOID’s VICE PRESIDENT SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY SPEAKS AT VALIDATION OF MICROBIOLOGICAL TEST PROCEDURES EVENT, PRAGUE, 20-22 APRIL 2005

Colin Booth, Vice President Science & Technology at Oxoid Ltd, will be one of the speakers at the “Validation of Microbiological Test Procedures” course, organised by the European Compliance Academy in co-operation with Concept Heidelberg, that is to be held in Prague from 20-22 April 2005. Oxoid are experts in pharmaceutical microbiology with a wide range of culture media and diagnostic products, support systems and services designed specifically to support the pharmaceutical industry.

The first of Colin’s presentations, entitled “Biological Reference Organisms/Bioindicators” will inform delegates about pharmacopoeial reference organisms and bioindicators, culture collections and the long and short-term methods of culture preservation. In “Efficacy of Antimicrobial Preservation” Colin will describe test organisms, preparation of inoculum, procedures and the criteria for acceptance as well as comparison of European pharmacopoeia/USP.
