OXOID’s VICE PRESIDENT SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY SPEAKS AT MICROBIOLOGY FOR NON-MICROBIOLOGISTS EVENT, PRAGUE, 2- 3 JUNE 2005
Colin Booth is one of the key speakers at Concept Heidelberg’s “Microbiology for Non-Microbiologists” event that is to be held in Prague from 2-3 June 2005. Colin is Vice President Science & Technology at Oxoid (who are experts in pharmaceutical microbiology with a wide range of culture media and diagnostic products, support systems and services designed specifically to support the pharmaceutical industry).
Topics to be covered during the event include: the characterisation of micro-organisms, how microbial growth occurs and what is required for growth, microbial identification techniques, validation of microbial test methods, environmental monitoring, how to handle microbiological out of specification results. A workshop on “Trouble shooting in the microbiological laboratory” will focus on the problems that occur frequently in microbiological quality control and possible solutions to these challenges will be discussed in small groups.
