Part of Thermo Fisher Scientific
05 December 2010
Thermo Fisher Scientific are pleased to announce that we are sponsoring the Society for Anaerobic Microbiology (SAM) 2011 Symposium: The Human Microbiome and Anaerobic Infection.
This symposium will demonstrate how knowledge about the human microbiota can enhance our understanding of microbial infections, particularly those associated with anaerobic bacteria. The meeting will facilitate knowledge exchange between both basic and clinical microbiologists by bringing together internationally renowned speakers that will appeal to both sets of participants. The emphasis will be on bridging the gap between high-throughput sequencing technologies and the clinical implications of the accumulated data from the human microbiome.
The focus of the meeting will be to examine the diversity of the microbiota present in the four main body sites of most interest to the human microbiome project: the gastrointestinal tract; the respiratory tract; the skin; the female genito-urinary tract.
The meeting will run Thursday, 3 February to Friday, 4 February 2011 at the Centre for Infections, Health Protection Agency, 61 Colindale Avenue, London NW9 5HT UK.
Abstract submission - the closing date for abstract submission has just been extended to 22nd December 2010.
