Introducing Oxoid New Zealand…
Users of Oxoid, Remel and Dupont Qualicon BAX® products in New Zealand now benefit from the services of a dedicated national sales and support team following the formation of Oxoid New Zealand (Oxoid NZ) in April 2006.
Based in Auckland, Oxoid NZ is the 16th Oxoid subsidiary to open worldwide, and is being run by a knowledgeable and enthusiastic local team with full-time representation on both the North and South Islands. Its aim is to give microbiologists in New Zealand the same level of service and technical support as that which has long been enjoyed by customers in Australia, whilst also helping to meet the needs of the growing trans-Tasman market.
“Many Australian customers have expanded into New Zealand and vice versa, so having Oxoid subsidiaries in both countries means we can offer them vastly improved service packages”, comments Greg Ashworth, Chief Executive Officer of Oxoid Australia. “Oxoid NZ is a dedicated organisation whose management is close to the local market and is much better placed to focus on our products than an appointed distributor would be able to do.”
“We are pleased to announce that Alan Chilcott has been appointed General Manager of Oxoid NZ” continues Greg. “Alan is a Registered Medical Microbiologist who gained a fantastic knowledge of the product range, customers and the New Zealand market while working with Global Science. He and his colleagues now form a committed team that is focused completely on the microbiology sector.”
Now that the Oxoid NZ operation is fully up and running, Alan’s priorities are to develop relationships and partnerships with its clinical and industrial microbiology customers whilst also raising service levels for the entire product range.
“The scope of our range of products is truly outstanding, encompassing everything from traditional microbiology and rapid diagnostics to cutting-edge real-time PCR”, comments Alan.
Enhanced customer service
“We have significantly raised our service expectations”, he adds. “Through Oxoid NZ, customers will benefit from receiving products faster than before, since our aim is to despatch over 98% of all order lines on a same-day basis.”
Because of his extensive knowledge and experience, Alan is the primary technical resource for Oxoid NZ. “Having a direct link with the parent company means we can provide better and more efficient technical back-up for all of our products”, he says. “I am looking forward to future growth in our product range as well as expansion in the sales and service team to enhance customer support still further.”
