Oxoid’s Vice President of Science and Technology speaks at ‘Microbiology for Non-microbiologists’, Berlin, 19-20th October 2006

Colin Booth, Vice President Science and Technology at Oxoid Limited, will be one of the key speakers at this year’s Microbiology for Non-microbiologists’ event in Berlin, on the 19-20th October. Colin Booth will share his expertise with delegates from the pharmaceutical industry, including responsible personnel in production, QA, engineering and regulatory affairs.

The aim of ‘Microbiology for Non-microbiologists’ is to help responsible personnel to understand and interpret microbiological data and to evaluate their significance for further decisions. Topics will include:

• the characteristics and growth of micro-organisms
• detection and identification techniques
• method validation
• cleaning, disinfection and sterilization methods
• environmental monitoring
• how to handle out-of-specification results.

There will also be ‘hands-on’ workshops on endotoxin testing and troubleshooting in microbiological QC.
