Cryptosporidium is a protozoan pathogen of the Apicomplexa phylum and causes a diarrheal illness called cryptosporidiosis. Cryptosporidiosis is typically an acute short-term infection but can become severe and non-resolving in children and immunocompromised individuals such as AIDS patients.

This kit contains Cryptosporidium positive control which is derived from 10% Formalin or SAF fixative stool samples of human or animal origin which are positive for Cryptosporidium; Giardia positive control derived from 10% formalin or SAF fixed stool samples which are positive for Giardia and Giardia/Cryptosporidium negative control which is derived from 10% Formalin or SAF fixative stool samples, which are negative for Giardia and Cryptosporidium.
