STORAGE OF RECONSTITUTED SUPPLEMENTS
Storage of reconstituted supplements is not officially recommended, however, we do recognise that there are circumstances where customers wish to do this.
In these situations our advice is to freeze aliquots of the freshly reconstituted supplement at -20°C. When stored in this way the aliquots should remain stable for several months.
Each aliquot should then be re-thawed only once and used immediately.
No data is available to substantiate the validity of this procedure, as the variation in freezing speed, aliquot size etc. between laboratories cannot be accounted for. In addition, certain supplements are not suitable to undergo this procedure.
Customers should check the performance of the frozen aliquots
against freshly reconstituted supplement, and produce their own guidelines
for the shelf life
of each supplement stored in this way.
